Privacy Policy
This Privacy Policy explains what personal data City Explorer collects, how we use it, and the rights you have over it. We only collect what we need to run the Service well.
Data we collect
- Account data: your name, username, email, and profile image, provided via Clerk when you sign up.
- Content: streams, chat messages, follows, and other activity you generate on the Service.
- Payment data: handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details; we only receive a payment method reference.
- Device & usage data: basic technical info (browser, OS, IP) needed to deliver streams and secure the Service.
How we use it
- To operate, maintain, and improve the Service.
- To process donations and subscriptions through Stripe Connect.
- To send transactional notifications (stream live, donation received, subscription renewed) and, if you opt in, product updates.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse, and violations of our Terms of Service.
Sharing
We share data only with the sub-processors required to run the Service: Clerk (auth), Stripe (payments), api.video (streaming), Ably (realtime chat), Neon (database), and Vercel (hosting). We do not sell your personal data.
Your rights
You can permanently delete your account and all associated data at any time from your Dashboard. For data access or export requests, email support@cityexplorer.live— we’ll respond within one month, the timeframe set by UK GDPR Article 12. If you reside in the UK/EU you have additional rights under UK GDPR / GDPR, including the right to object and the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority.
Retention
We keep account data for as long as your account is active. Stream recordings, chat logs, and payment records are retained as required by law and our legitimate business interests (typically up to 7 years for financial records).
